We acknowledge the Wiradjuri people traditional owners of Country in of Central NSW and their elders both past and present. In the Wiradjuri language the Eastern Brown Snake is called a Warralang (pronounced Worrr-run), Dhuwaa (pronounced Do-Wa) or a Wiina (pronounced We-Nah)
The Eastern Brown snake is the world’s second most venomous land snake, but despite the more people die each year from bees than snakes in Australia.
There are many brown-coloured snakes in Australia, so its not always easy to tell if it’s an Eastern Brown you’re looking at. The only reliable way to identify most snakes is by counting the rows of scales across the back and noting the pattern of scales on the head and under the tail, not something you really want to do if you come face to face with one.
Bernard sits at 13cm long and 2cm tall. VOC free tints and sustainably sourced Ash wood.
